9/11 Memorial Ceremony
Event Description:
The City of Washington is sponsoring the 16th annual 9/11 Memorial Service to honor those that were lost on that fateful day in our history 16 years ago. On this day we will also be honoring our own police and fire departments. The memorial service is dedicated to those that we lost on 9/11/2001, but will also honor all the men and women that today go into harm's way as they go about their daily jobs of protecting our citizens and our city. Our memorial service will start with a memorial walk that will begin at the walking trail on Lincoln Street near the tennis courts and end at the helicopter memorial, led by the Washington High School Cheerleaders. If you prefer not to walk come directly to the helicopter memorial site where the service will take place. Bring your lawn chair and join us for a memorial ceremony that will not be forgotten!
